Goodbye Old Friend

Kefora (Key Dog)
1994 - 2009

This is a very sad day for me as my sweet dog Key past away this morning. My heart is breaking but I know she is in a better place and playing in heaven with her mate Bantock who past away 2 years ago. I will miss you with all my heart girl.

Oh Renee, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved pup. I also lost my Golden Retreiver, Kerry about 4 years ago. She was so sweet and everytime I see another "Goldie" my heart melts with happy memories. You have your happy memories when sadness visits you. Sending you a cyber hug of comfort at this sad time.

Renee,

I am so sorry for your loss. I have an old 12 year old dog, Maddy and so I can imagine the kind of bond you've built with your special girl, Kefora; I am dreading this day as well. Here is a poem I just adore about losing a beloved dog;

---------------------
THE BEST PLACE TO BURY A DOG

There is one best place to bury a dog.
If you bury him in this spot, he will come to you when you call - come to you over the grim, dim frontier of death, and down the well-remembered path, and to your side again.

And though you call a dozen living
dogs to heel, they shall not growl at him, nor resent his coming, for he belongs there.

People may scoff at you, who see
no lightest blade of grass bent by his footfall, who hear no whimper, people who may never really have had a dog.

Smile at them, for you shall know
something that is hidden from them,
and which is well worth the knowing.

The one best place to bury a good
dog is in the heart of his master.
